Methodology
SEO Checklist helps website owners, marketers and developers choose a task, inspect the relevant evidence, and record a useful next action. The free checklists are manual workflows. They do not scan a website, diagnose it automatically or calculate a search-engine score.
Start with the visitor’s job
The master checklist provides a first pass. The audit workflow diagnoses an existing site. The technical checklist covers reproducible implementation checks. The on-page checklist focuses on the purpose and quality of one page. Each workflow has a different output.
Use primary sources and observable conditions
Material search-platform claims link to official documentation beside the relevant check. Each task states when it applies, what to inspect, how to distinguish pass from fail, what evidence to retain, and what to do after a correction. A source can establish a platform rule; it cannot prove that your website passes it.
Keep claims proportional to the evidence
Pass means that you observed the stated acceptance condition. It does not establish indexing, ranking, traffic growth or a penalty. A suspected cause should stay a hypothesis until evidence supports it. Blocked work is recorded separately from a failed check.
Review progress, not an SEO score
Applicable checks equal all checks minus those marked not applicable. Reviewed checks equal passes plus failures. Review progress is reviewed checks divided by applicable checks. Blocked and untested checks remain unfinished. If no checks apply, the interface says so.
AI assistance and illustrations
This site’s initial content, code and original illustrations were prepared with AI assistance. Official guidance was checked while preparing the content. Generated images are illustrative and do not depict actual analytics, customer results or a tested search-platform interface. No professional credentials or independent human review are claimed.
Changes and retesting
Source-check dates describe when the cited guidance was checked. They are separate from the dates you record while using a checklist. Material task changes use a new revision, retain your earlier evidence, and require a fresh result. Download a CSV if you need a durable copy.
